Jones Tube

Correct tear pump failure 

The delicate tear pump that pumps the tears out of the eye is easily damaged, and once damaged, cannot be repaired. When this happens, the eye will water even if the drain is not blocked.

When this occurs, a Jones tube can provide relief. This is a glass bypass channel which acts as a secondary tear drain to improve tear clearance. It is placed only after DCR surgery has been carried out.
